Pedersen & Partners and CMS South Africa Private Equity Breakfast

Sanari CEO Samantha Pokroy joined other industry leaders for a comprehensive panel covering all things private equity in Sub Saharan Africa at the Pedersen & Partners and CMS South Africa Private Equity Breakfast last week.

The panellists discussed the opportunities and challenges that shape the future of private equity in Africa.

Top-of-mind themes included how we navigate regulatory matters – including the evolving competition commission approvals processes but also how to successfully operate in regulated sectors – such as education. Sam shared Edulife’s approach to seeking win-win partnerships with the public sector and bringing them into the schools’ successes.

Also highlighted was the growing complexity in our global business environment with technological, geopolitical and social change accelerating. This requires not only an evolving skill set for private equity professionals but also a reflective view of management capabilities and courageous alignment on succession in portfolio companies.
