Sanari Capital is a growth-stage private equity firm. We focus on medium-sized and mid-market growth investments emanating from Africa, predominantly from South Africa, with regional and global scalability.

Our story
Sanari was founded in 2013 by Samantha Pokroy, seeking to fill a gap in the private equity market by bridging between founder-run, owner-managed or family-owned businesses and corporate private equity. She was joined shortly after by Moushmi Patel, and together they established the firm with a shared purpose: to leverage private equity to create a significant, positive and sustainable impact for the people of our continent.
From raising its first third party capital in 2017 and investing in sectors like data research, distribution, IoT, software, education, sensors, and identity verification, the team is now investing from its R1.45 billion (USD 80 million) Sanari 3S Growth Fund, its second fund but first raised from institutional investors.
